The Archdiocesan Day of Eucharistic Adoration this year at the Cathedral, entitled ‘Adoremus’, will be on Saturday 10 October. It will be held on the same day as the similar national event in Westminster. and there will be an opportunity to witness some of the Westminster event, particularly the keynote talk, through a live stream in the Gibberd Room during the afternoon events here. 

The day at our Cathedral will run from Mass at 9am through to the Vigil Mass at 5pm. Throughout the day, there will be Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Mass, opportunities for confession, and shared times of prayer, alongside a range of engaging workshops. Those who wish to take part are welcome to come for a particular part of the day or stay for the whole event. While exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is taking place in the Cathedral, there will be opportunities for workshops on a whole series of interesting faith topics in some of the Cathedral meeting spaces and the Crypt Chapel. Due to limited numbers for these workshops, those wishing to attend will need to sign up for them – you can do so at archdioceseofliverpool.org/ adoremus2026. Archbishop John will lead a time of Eucharistic adoration from 3pm, concluding with Benediction, and later that afternoon will preside at the evening vigil Mass. 

St Edward’s College community will be joining us for 11am Sunday Mass the day after Adoremus in anticipation of the feast day of St Edward the Confessor, which falls on Tuesday 13 October. Interestingly, he is the first key figure depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry currently on public display in London. 

On Sunday 18 October, at 11am Solemn Mass, Archbishop Sherrington is inviting families and individuals of many different nationalities to join us for a first ‘Annual Archdiocesan International Mass’. Please do come along.
