The cathedral will be hosting Mother’s Warmth, an exhibition by Bulgarian artist and iconographer Dian Kostov.

Retreat Day: Francis: A Saint for Today?

9:30am – 4:00pm at Poor Servants of the Mother of God, Liverpool

The Archdiocese of Liverpool invites you to walk alongside others on a day of spiritual journeying in the Franciscan spirit, as Hazel Bradley of the L’Arche community joins us at St Joseph’s Prayer Centre in Formby for a day of retreat, prayer, and encounter with God in creation. In the beautiful surroundings of forest and sea, St Joseph’s offers a brilliant place to explore St Francis’ spirituality during this Franciscan Jubilee Year. There is no charge for the day but please bring your own lunch.

Llysfasi Spirituality Workshop – A Creative Experiential Journey

Applications are open for the Llysfasi Spirituality Workshop, a residential programme at the Loreto Spirituality Centre, Llandudno, offering a creative, experiential journey of spiritual growth through prayer, reflection and accompaniment.

The cost is £1,600, including accommodation, resources and team fees. A limited number of bursaries and grants are available for those in financial need.

Fundraiser for Fr Simon Cadwallader’s Parish in Peru

12:30pm at St Helen, Crosby

Come along and support Fr Simon Cadwallader’s parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace, in Peru. There will be an exhibition of paintings by local artist Marion Smith, tea, coffee and cakes, stalls, and a hamper raffle. Donations of nearly new items, unwanted gifts and raffle prizes are gratefully received. All proceeds will support Fr Simon’s parish.

Pilgrimage Mass to the Holy Hand of St Edmund Arrowsmith

3:00pm at St Oswald & St Edmund Arrowsmith, Ashton-in-Makerfield

The Principal Celebrant will be Fr John Hogan of the Diocese of Meath, Ireland, author of the most recent CTS booklet on the life of St Edmund Arrowsmith.

Crafting the Word of the Lord: An Exhibition of Knitted Bible Scenes
At Our Lady & All Saints, Parbold

Everyone is welcome to this exhibition of knitted Bible scenes created by Francesca Vause. The church will be open throughout the week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11:00am–3:00pm; Tuesday, 3:30pm–6:00pm; and Thursday, 11:30am–4:00pm.

Meropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King 3:00pm
Evening Prayer with the Apostolic Nuncio

All are warmly invited to assemble as our archdiocesan family for Evening Prayer sung at the Cathedral at the culmination of the Apostolic Nuncio’s visit to the archdiocese. This date coincides with the 175th anniversary of the establishment of the Metropolitan Chapter of Liverpool. There will be a drinks reception following in the Cathedral crypt.
The Apostolic Nuncio will also celebrate the Solemn Mass at 11am in the Cathedral on Sunday 13 September.

Adventurous Accompaniment Day Workshop - at St Margaret Clitherow Centre

“In the relationship of accompaniment, [we] are provided a space in which [we] can come to deeply know the love of Jesus Christ through friendship, guidance, and authenticity...” Whether you are new to the concept of accompaniment, or regularly incorporate it, this workshop is for you. There is no cost and we would just ask that you bring your own lunch.

A Retreat with Ros Powell
At St Joseph’s Prayer Centre, Freshfield

St Joseph’s Prayer Centre will host a retreat led by Ros Powell, exploring the many ways the Lord heals and restores us, followed by prayer ministry. The weekend will include time for prayer, healing, adoration and Holy Mass each day, including a Mass of Healing on Saturday at 7:00pm.

Residential places cost £190 per person, including meals and refreshments.

Day places are available for £50, including lunch.
